Who Gets the Invite?

A lot of times couples are troubled when it comes to deciding who to invite to their wedding. Ok lets face it, it is one of the most stressful moments of the wedding planning. Actually, number one reason many couples choose to have destination wedding is to escape the whole guest list drama.  So lets talk about guest list….

Some couples opt to not invite anyone to their wedding but instead have celebration when they return from their destination. This can be a great decision if you want a simple, romantic setting or a spur of the moment decision. Honestly I am a fan of those weddings!

If you want a small beach wedding then make sure you let everybody know, so there is no hard feelings. Explain that you are only inviting close family members like parents and siblings.  The key to this option however is giving your guests plenty of time to plan for travel. A good amount of time would probably be at least 3 months in advance. This allows your family to purchase the best price tickets, plan group rates at hotels, and look into other activities at your destination spot.

The main thing to remember as the couple is the choice is completely up to you. and remember it is not worth fighting over. There is absolutely no obligation to invite everyone in your phone book. Your wedding day is all about you and your partner, not the people in the audience.
